Upon arrival, each guest will receive a schedule of when each donated item will be auctioned. This will allow our guests to know when an item of interest to them is to be auctioned. Guests will have time to mingle, enjoy food and drink, and peruse the donated items on all floors of the beautifully decorated Colonnade.
There will also be a silent auction for the 4-Foot Tree donations.
A Mobile Site of HolidayHoopla.com will be launched prior to the event. Pictures of the donations and the schedule of the auction will also be included so guests can peruse items from their Smart Phones. A QR Code will be available to scan that evening.
As Donations are decorated and placed in The Colonnade, pictures of the donated items will be posted here and on the Holiday Hoopla Facebook Page. 'Like' us on Facebook for the most up-to-date information!
The Trees
The Ohio State University at Lima
This charming 4.5-foot tree decorated by The Ohio State University is filled with ornaments meant to evoke the memories and friendships of Buckeyes around the world. From the spirited, hand-made garland to the Brutus decorations, this tree bleeds scarlet and gray tradition. Visitors to your home are sure to respond with a resounding O-H!
Marimor Industries ArtAbility Studio and Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities
Our tree is called: “Blues, Bells, Buttons and Bows”. It is 7 ½ ft.
The ornaments are made by artists from ArtAbility Studio. They are glass balls that are painted inside.
ArtAbility is a studio for adults with disabilities and artistic abilities. We focus on developing and promoting creativity and expression. The artists have some fabulous talents and vision. The studio is located in the Civic Center and is open to the public.
This tree is being donated by the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Marimor Industries ArtAbility Studio.
Topsy-Turvy
We thought it would be fun for our tree to be interactive, so we will have a list of clues on the easel pictured next to the tree. Guests can try to locate all of the items w/in the tree during the event and/or for the winning bidder when they take it home. We always have two thoughts in everything we do: learning should be fun and there is no age limit for play!
The Tree-mendous Holiday Hoopla will offer an evening of fun and entertainment, while raising money to benefit the Lima Area Chamber Foundation. Monies generated from this event will directly benefit the Lima Area Chamber Foundation. The Foundation purchased and renovated the historical 1884 Schnorf-Wagner building creating a one-stop shop, Center for Business Services. Upon completion of the renovations, the Foundation Board developed a décor concept reflecting our impressive business history and the culture of Lima's local and global business - giving visitors a glimpse of our contribtions to the world's economy. By attending this holiday event, you are helping to capture the rich tradition, culture and history of our community.
We sincerely hope you will join us for this unique event and look forward to kicking off the holiday season with you!
